*A fairy tale from Zimbabwe: Chief five heads*
*There was a man of high rank and nobility who had two beautiful daughters. One day, he travelled to a faraway villiage and learned that the great chief of this village was seeking a wife. When he came back, he told the two daughters about the great chief and asked them who wanted to be his wife. The elder daughter wanted to be his wife first. She set off the journey to the great chief’s village. Before she left, the father advised her to be accompanied with some people for assembling a large bridal party as a tradition for a girl who wanted to get married. She refused his advice. On the way to the chief village, she refused the helps and advices from a frog, a boy, an old woman, a girl. She even was very rude to them. When she reached the village, people there wondered how can there was a girl without bridal party who wanted to get married. They told her the chief was not at home and she had to prepare food for him when he got back. She made the bread which was hard and dry. When the chief got back, he was in an appearance of a big snake with five heads, the elder daughter was very frightened when she saw him. He ate the bread she made then refused her to be his wife. When the elder daughter returned home, the younger daughter told her father she wanted to be the wife of the great chief. She set off her journey. Taking advice from her father, she was accompanied by all of her father’s friends. On her way to the village of the great chief, she took the advices and helps from a mouse, an old woman, a rabbit. She was very polite to them. When she reached the village, again they told her he was not at home, she had to prepare food for him when he got back. She made very tasty and soft bread. At night, the great chief in a appearance of a big snake and five heads returned home. He ate the food from the younger daughter and very pleased. Then he turned to a very handsome man and wanted to get married to the younger daughter. He told her he watched her during her journey and was very pleased with her.*
