*Swedish folktale: The Poor Devil*

*One upon a time, there was a peasant who prayed God to take care of his cow when he led it to pasture in the Spring. An Evil near his place heard that then thought if people met good things they thanked God for it but when they met bad things they blamed Evil for that. It was true when few days later the cow strayed into a swamp, the peasant blamed the Evil for that then left to find the helps. The Evil tried to help the peasant and wanted to see what the peasant would do. When the peasant came back seeing the cow was on dry land, he said: “Thank God, She’s out again.”*
