*Spain Fairy tale: The Enchanted Castle in the Sea*

*Long ago, there was a young man who didn’t want to work. He managed his life by spending all his inheritance and borrowing debts until he was unable to pay this pile of debts.One day, a man knocked his house door and offered to pay all of the debts if he did a job for him. With no solution for the debts, the young man agreed. The man told he would come back the next day at five am in the morning and they would start the work.*

*The next day, the man rode a horse and brought another horse for the young man. Together, they traveled to many places until they reached a seashore. The man told the young man that they would cross the sea to a place where a castle was located. The castle had lots of gold and silver, and his task was to fill some sacks with of gold and silver for the man.The young man was very scared but told the man to ride ahead. Together, they crossed the waves of the sea to the castle. The castle was on the top of a steep rock. The young man found no way to reach the castle. The man opened a book and the young man flied up to the top of the rock where he found a window high up in the castle wall. He opened the window and climbed into the castle. After filling the two sacks with gold and silver, the young man threw them out of the window for the man. After receiving the sacks, the man rode his horse and led another horse, left the young man alone at the castle.*

*After searching around the castle and finding nothing but gold and silver, the young man was very thirsty and hungry. When he was extremely hopeless, he found a spot in the walls of the castle. He began digging the hole until he found a door which led to a place with full of delicious foods and drinks. There was a negro woman who prepared these foods and drinks at this place. After a time, the young man felt very lonely. Finally, from the negro woman, he found that in this castle,there was a princess who got spelled and was locked in a room in the castle.This room was protected by two fierce lions and a deadly serpent. His thinking about her grew more and more and he found all the way to search for the room. One day, he saw a rat running across the floor and quickly disappeared from a crack in the wall.He began to dig further into the crack until he found a door which led to the room of the princess. After bravely fighting with the two lions and the serpent, he reached the room and found a very beautiful maiden who was sleeping. She was wakened right after that. She looked at him with her very beautiful eyes. Right after giving him her handkerchief and telling him that it would help her to remember him, the princess disappeared with the castle and left the young man alone at a seashore. The young man had been already deeply in love with the princess. He found her everywhere he could. When he approached his own city. He found a lot of banners and flowers. He was told that a feast for the princess’s wedding was being prepared. The wedding day came, the young man recognized the bride who was the princess that he had saved. He was like a madman. Finally, he found a way to wave the handkerchief in front of the princess to remind her before the wedding happened. The princess remembered the young man. She told the King that she just wanted to get married to the young man. They got married and lived happily ever after.*
