*The Fate*
*There was a very brave and powerful king named Chandan Singh of Chandan Nagar in a very rich country. Once an astrologer named Bhadrasheel arrived in his country. Before leaving the country the astrologer wanted to meet the King. The King was very happy. The King wanted to give the astrologer a gift - a purseful of germs before his leaving. The astrologer refused. He told the King.*
*“A person is rich or poor by virtue of his own fate and labour. If a king wants to make some one rich by gifting him wealth, it won't work. The person would lose such wealth in one way or other.’*
*The King wasn’t convinced. He clothed a gardener with royal dress and asked the astrologer to predict his future. The astrologer told the king that this was a gardener and he was born poor and might remain ever poor. The King wasn’t convinced and told the astrologer he would make the gardener rich within one year. The astrologer left the country.*
*The next day the King assigned the gardener to deliver a letter to his friend with a little money. But The gardener wasn’t happy because of long and tired way. Therefore, he handed over to a friend who was willing to do that. This friend then became very rich and got married to a princess. Because in the letter, the King had the father of the princess help the deliverer of the letter become rich and if the King’s friend agreed, he might arrange a marriage for this guy with his daughter.*
*The King wasn’t happy but decided to give the gardener one more chance. Meanwhile, to please the King, the gardener gave him a melon which he grew. The King scooped out the fleshy parts and filled the hollowed inside with gold coins and diamonds. Then he rewarded this to the gardener. The gardener was unhappy with the reward because he thought it was very normal and cheap one. On the way back his hut, he gave it to an acquaintance who then became very rich for the reward.*
*The King then agreed with the astrologer and resigned himself from the power of fate, went to find the astrologer but couldn’t find him.
