*Anansi and Snake*

*Tiger was the undisputed king of the forest. Everything in the forest was named after his name such as Tiger Lilies, Tiger Moths, Tiger Stories. Anansi was just one of the weakest animal in the forest. The other animals in the forest laughed at him for that. One day, Anansi came to meet Tiger to ask his permission to name Stories after his name. Tiger agreed to let him do that with one condition that he had to capture Snake for Tiger. During consecutive three days, Anansi made some arrangements to catch Snake but they all didn’t work out. Next day, he pretended to sit in front of Snake’s house, looking dejected. Snake asked him why. He told him that everybody in the forest was talking behind his back that he was not the longest creature in the forest. Snake didn’t agree with that. To prove it was not true, Anansi cut down the longest bamboo and told Snake to stretch his body so that he could measure both. To make sure Snake didn’t cheat when he measured, he told Snake he wanted to tie him with the bamboo. Snake agreed to let Anansi do that. He tied Snake to the bamboo. The other animals who had watched him and Snake so far didn’t laugh at him anymore because he made it to capture Snake. From that day, the stories was named Anansi Stories.*
