*A folklore from Burkina Faso: A year without criticizing*

*There was once a year that everybody was forbidden to criticize the others. If one did that, he or she would die.*

*One day, the Hare climbed to a large rock and told the passersby that he was going to grow eggplants in the rock. All of them couldn’t bear the thought that how it could be. They criticized him. Therefore they all died. The Hare collected the dead bodies and ate them with his family.*

*A hen knew what the Hare did and swore to make the Hare pay. The hen went to meet the Hare who was climbing the rock. Same the Hare told her that he’s going to grow eggplants in the rock. The Hen replied him that she was going to Silmise to get her hair done. The Hare couldn’t bear the thought that how it could be. He criticized her. Then he died.*
